Slacking terribly

Wow, I'd almost forgotten that I'd created this until I tried to post a comment on another blog and needed to log in.

Well, where do I start?

I guess I should start with the fact that I'm looking for work, but I have an interview tomorrow, so fingers crossed. And, I've just seen the time and need my beauty sleep, so I'll keep this short, but will be back soon to give a proper update...

What a slacker

Oh boy! I've been neglecting this page a bit haven't I?
I guess that's because as soon as we got back from London having done the training I was allowed to go on gardening leave. All of that jollity finished a long time ago and now I'm signed up for unemployment and am frantically looking for a new job.

Oh, yeah, I had to get myself a new pooter too, that's the main reason this page has been neglected. I got myself a mac and am quite happy with it up to now.

You'd think after 5 months or so that I'd have a bit more to say.

But I don't.

More ITIL training

It's been confirmed.

We're going to London to repeat the training course there. We've got another 5 courses planned, with so far 64 students signed up, but I'm sure it will edge up close to 100 again.

Great news!

And we'll be in London over the bank holiday weekend, so even better!

Just for Stephane

OK, the Chelsea / Liverpool thing didn't go according to plan, but apart from that it was a good week.
And yeah, I went to Sweden for Easter, Stockholm to be precise. I liked it there. Not much more to say about it really

Training over for now

Yesterday we completed the last 2 of our 9 training sessions.
We think we've trained everybody in the Geneva IT department bar 6 people (this doesn't include the few who were already certified).
At the latest count 14 people have passed the exam (out of 14 who sat it). I guess if anyone has failed, they wouldn't tell us though. Having said that, everybody has scored very well so I don't expect anybody to have done significantly worse than the rest.

There now exists the possibility that I'll be asked (with maybe 1 other person) to go to London and provide the training there. So, carry on watching this space...

p.s. I'm feeling rather pleased with myself this week. Monday I answered the 'bonus' question that won CHF260 for our pub quiz team and at snooker on Tuesday I got an 8-ball break of 27 to equal my personal best. Then yesterday, both Man U and Arsenal failed to win - a Chelsea loss tonight would round things off rather nicely before my trip to Stockholm for Easter. This week is a good week :-D

And then there were 8

Now 8 out of 8 for sitting and passing the exam and I'm sure more to come

A few updates

I don't know if someone has been keeping a sly eye on my blog, but they have overturned the decision to keep Architecture in Europe, and replaced it with a Data Warehousing presence. It seems unlikely that this blog made any contribution, but then you never know...

I had an excellent weekend in Ireland, including one of the very best days ever on the Saturday. It has just whetted my appetite for a longer stay in early May.

Our training course has now seen 7 people sit the Foundation Certification and 7 passes. There is a real chance of this number increasing quite a bit as we are training 99 people! That constitutes about 95% of Geneva based IT (excluding those that are already certified).

I'm chuffed :-D
